The fine print
Privacy Policy
What the site collects, why, and what you can ask for.
Last updated October 19, 2026
The Copy Tonic is a copywriting school and copywriting service run by KLD LLC, an Arizona limited liability company ("The Copy Tonic" in this policy). This policy explains what personal information thecopytonic.com collects, why, where it goes, and what you can ask for. The short version: the site asks for your name and email only when you sign up or send a message, it uses them only for that, and it never sells them.
What the site collects
- When you join the waitlist ("Save me a seat"): your first name, last name and email address.
- When you send a message through the Contact page: your first name, last name, email address, the subject you choose and your message.
- Automatically: the hosting service keeps short technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) to keep the site running and secure. The site doesn't use advertising trackers or sell data to anyone.
How it's used
- Waitlist: to email you when the workshops and the course open, and to send occasional emails about them. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- Messages: to read your message and reply to it, including quotes for copywriting services.
- Nothing you send is used for anything else, and your information is never sold or rented.
Where it's stored
- Email list and form answers: a privately run email system (Mautic) on The Copy Tonic's own server. A copy of each sign-up and message is emailed to hello@thecopytonic.com.
- Website hosting: Vercel, which delivers the pages and keeps the technical logs described above.
- Email: the hello@thecopytonic.com mailbox is hosted by SiteGround.
These services handle data only to provide their service to The Copy Tonic. If payments are added later (for the course or workshops), they will be handled by a payment processor, and this policy will be updated before that happens.
Cookies
The public pages don't set advertising or tracking cookies. The site's content editor, used only by the site owner, sets cookies needed to sign in.
How long it's kept
Waitlist sign-ups are kept until you unsubscribe or ask for removal. Messages are kept as long as needed to answer them and handle any work that follows.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see the information held about you, correct it, or have it deleted. You can unsubscribe from emails at any time with the link at the bottom of each one. To ask for any of these, email hello@thecopytonic.com. Requests are answered within 30 days. Depending on where you live (for example in California, the UK or the EU), you may have further rights under local law, and those requests are honored too.
Children
The site is not meant for anyone under 16, and doesn't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has signed up, email hello@thecopytonic.com and the information will be deleted.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date at the top.
